Artists

As an expansion of my previous project photographing artists’ studios, my photographs of artists working and talking about their work continues to examine sources and methods of creative expression. These Icelandic artists were strangers to me before I came to photograph them so I spent time with them learning about their methods and inspirations before taking any photographs. The images represent collaboration between us – with a little direction from me and a lot of ideas from them. The time I spent exploring each artist’s working space and learning about them was as rewarding as the resulting photographs. I continue to be impressed and inspired by the diverse and complex nature of the artistic process.

All images are available as 10.5 x 15 inch archival pigment prints framed 16 x 20 inches.
