The Kitchen Sink

This portfolio began with delight in my new garden; watching little seeds become beautiful plants then delicious dinners and rich compost. I photographed it all. My photographs of lettuce soaking in the sink and freshly peeled cucumber have evolved (devolved?) into nightly shots of the remains of dinner prep in the kitchen sink — whether I’d grown the veggies myself or not. I admit to “arranging” the scraps to improve the composition, but minimally, usually just to get it all in the frame. Things are lovely without my help: the curl of a peeling, starkness of a stem, the interplay of colors against stainless steel.

Each image is printed 8 x 10 inches on aluminum with a dye infusion process and display best in groups of 3 or more.
